in science class we need to figure look at a chart where it uses abreviations or symbols for alkaline earth metals and alkali metals. the symbols given are Mg, K, Na, Ca, Fe, and Al. help me please? i cant find it anywhere in the book.
i don’t know exactly what you are asking but i hope this helps.
alkali metals (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr) are a series of elements comprising Group 1 of the periodic table.
alkaline earth metals (Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ra) are a series of elements comprising Group 2 of the periodic table.
Fe, iron, is a transition metal and Al, aluminum, is a poor metal

I got the Induction pad a while ago and it was working great, but I moved recently and now for some reason its not charging my wii remote. I put it on the pad and the light stays red for a while, but then it just starts blinking red furiously and doesn’t charge my remote. I’ve looked all over for the answer but can’t find it and the instruction booklet got lost during the move so that option is out as well. Please help!
I don’t know what to tell you, man…
I looked at reviews of the product over on Amazon and it says how the red light should be lit when charging and then it changes to green when fully charged.
Obviously, blinking red is BAD, very bad. It means there is some kind of problem.
It’s pretty hard to say what could be wrong… especially if it was working just fine before???

I have a wonderful digital camera, a canon PowerShot S5IS. I bought it in part, because it could use rechargeable batteries. I bought some really nice energizer ones just for that purpose. But I used the free batteries (non-chargeable) first, and now I cannot get it to recognize the recharacable batteries. I know they work because I’ve tested them in other devices? Any help? I can’t afford more batteries, and they died within an hour during the inauguration. Very frustrating.
1) if you were outdoors, the cold temperatures will sap the power of the batteries. Once they warm up, they regain their power (cold temps reduce the chemical reactions that produce electricity).
2) if you still have problems once your batteries are warmed up, then the issue may be your charger, high internal resistance in the batteries, or both.
3) the best rechargeable AA batteries are Sanyo Eneloops or other similar "pre-charged" rechargeables. They have lower internal resistance and will last much longer in high-drain devices than normal NiMH rechargeables.
Based on your description, I’d bet that it was the cold weather coupled with a lot of LCD use that killed your batteries within an hour.

How long can a deep cycle battery sit before it loses a significant charge? I charged my battery about a week ago and planning on using it for a trolling motor tomorrow. My battery charger recently messed up and will not charge. Do you think a battery that has sat for a week will have enough charge to decently run a trolling motor for a day?
If it’s in good cond, a week is no problem.

This happened last night, gave a jump start, now my dash lights and tail lights are not functioning. The brake lights and headlights still work. I checked all the fuses and they are fine, what should I look at next?
Normally most cars have 2 fuse panels, one interior and one exterior, depending upon the make and model is where they are located. You possibly have opened a fuse.. Your owners manual should give you the locations, if you don’t have one surf around on line and you should be able to find it.

I check the starter, battery and anything I could think of but it doesn’t start.
Did you check the battery cables? I have a 1998 Passport and not matter what I do…the cables always manage to come loose just enough for the engine not to fire.
If the cables are alright…might be the fuel pump.
